New Voting Machines
We now have new voting machines in Clay County. These machines provide Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) technology to ensure security and transparency in the voting process. Like our previous machines, there is no wi-fi or satellite connections. The paper record is always secured in a locked and sealed enclosure. It isn’t handled by numerous people, numerous times. It is an auditable paper record. If you are interested in viewing the new machine, we have a demo set up in the office with a temporary ballot that you can actually use and go through the voting process. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
